In principle, Kickball may be played with any number of players, however, it is most commonly played with teams of 5 to 15 individuals. Kickball is best played on a softball field, although it may be played on any surface as long as it contains four bases in a diamond shape, 20 feet apart if following the primary rules, or as considered acceptable if space is restricted.
Kickball scoring is straightforward. When a runner safely crosses home plate before the completion of an inning, a run is scored. If the ball is kicked and clears the outfield boundary, the runner who kicked it (together with any runners on the other bases) races unassisted to home plate, scoring one run apiece.
The side with the most runs is declared the winner after each team has played their permitted number of innings. To choose the winner, a competition might be employed. Each side has one designated kicker who kicks towards the second base from home plate. For their team, the kicker who kicks the ball closest to the base wins the match.
